Shay Given in Middlesbrough loan deal

Forgotten Villa keeper Shay Given is off to Middlesbrough in a last gasp loan deal.

Boro's regular No1 Jason Steele is suspended for Aitor Karanka's first home game as the club's head coach so Shay is expected to go straight into the first team.

The former Republic of Ireland first choice lost his place to Brad Guzan at the start of last season and has been frozen out this term with Jed Steer being the second choice goalie.

The deal is subject to Premier League clearance and will run until December 29
