Cobblers! Dame Edna buggers off to Northampton

Northampton Town have snapped up 24 year old Aston Villa left back Enda Stevens on a month's emergency loan.

Back in Ireland, Stevens began his career with University College Dublin before moving to St Patrick's Athletic where he became first choice left-back.

He made six appearances in the 2009-2010 UEFA Europa League.

Stevens joined Shamrock Rovers in December 2009 winning his first title as Shamrock won the league title on the final day of the season.

In 2011-2012, Stevens was part of Rovers' first ever UEFA Europa League clash and made 15 appearances in European competition over a two year period.

He capped off a memorable year by winning the PFAI Young Player of the Year.

He joined Villa in January 2012, and made his full Premier League debut against Manchester United, one of six Premier League starts he has to his name.

In the 2013/14 season he had loan spells at Notts County and Doncaster Rovers, and while with the latter he made 13 Championship appearances.

He is available to face Burton Albion at Sixfields on Saturday.
