An agreement was reached on Saturday for the transfer of Jordan Amavi to Aston Villa according to OGC Nice on their website.
From the age of seven until he was 16, Amavi played for local side Sporting Toulon, where one of his coaches identified him as a future France international, but, he says, “no one believed me.” Now, as an under-21 international and one of the best left-backs in Ligue 1, the 21-year-old is on the verge of proving his coach right.
In the season just gone, Amavi was thrust into the starting line-up, and didn’t look back. During the season the left-back only missed two games, playing over 3,200 minutes for Les Aiglons. His performances have seen him not only become a mainstay of Nice’s defence, but also quickly gain a reputation as one of the France’s best left-backs.
