Villa issue apology for AVTV cock-up

Aston Villa have issued an apology after gremlins played havoc with its AVTVHD service, leaving angry fans without coverage of Tuesday's game against Swindon.

Many fans had log-in issues or got a screen full of runtime error code instead of seeing their heroes in action.

Twitter erupted with fury.

While season ticket holders get the service as part of the deal, other fans have to shell out hard cash to receive it.

The apology:

"Aston Villa would like to apologise to the AVTV HD subscribers who experienced problems watching Tuesday's live stream at Swindon Town.

"While the stream improved during the second half of the game, we experienced technical gremlins throughout the first half.

"We are working very hard with our web agency to ensure the same issues don’t arise for the three remaining games we are showing live – Walsall, Wolves and Nottingham Forest.

"We have also informed them that these issues are unacceptable for our fanbase watching via AVTV HD.

"Many thanks for your on-going support,

"Aston Villa Football Club"
