Villa draw 3-3 with Forest despite Sinclair Hat-Trick

A late Forest goal denied Villa victory in their final pre-season warm up game at the City Ground.

Forest rocked their Premier League opponents by taking the lead in just thiry seconds when Dexter Blackstock was given heaps of room inside the Villa penalty area before drilling a shot past goalkeeper Mark Bunn.

Scott Sinclair equalised for Villa when heading home Jordan Amavi's superb curling cross from the left.

The first half was marred by an injury to new boy Crespo.

Forest put us under with two chances for Michail Antonio, his first effort going wide,  and Bunn smothering  his second.

Villa were caught napping again when Antonio struck the post for Forest, but on 51 minutes, Joe Cole found Sinclair, who smashed the ball into the roof of the net.

More injury worries ensued when Alan Hutton took a kick in the head. Luckily he was fit to continue.

Ex-Villa trainee and new Forest signing Jamie Ward struck the woodwork with a long-range from an acute angle.

However, Sinclair bagged his hat trick on 64 minutes when he unleashed a stunning 25-yard rocket into the top corner.

Back came Forest with 10 minutes remaining, Henri Lansbury scored a second for Forest with a shot from the edge of the area.

It appeared as though Villa would hold on for the win, but in the final minute, a corner found its way to Kelvin Wilson, who made no mistake from close range.
