Tiago Ilori is coming to Villa in a season long loan after Liverpool lodged a last gasp deal sheet as the transfer window slammed shut.
The centre half, who is said to have shunned Sunderland's advances because of the cold, will add to our defensive choices as Baker and Bennett bugger off on loan.
Ilori joined Liverpool in the summer of 2013. Two years later, he is still waiting for his debut, though.
He spent the latter half of the 2013/14 season on loan with Granada in Spain, while he spent the whole of 2014/15 on loan at Bordeaux.
Liverpool get a £1m loan fee. If Ilori plays a set number of games Villa can trigger a clause of between £6m and £9m to buy him permanently.
Tim Sherwood "I am very pleased to bring Tiago into the football club.
"He's someone I have been aware of for some time and I am looking forward to working with him.
"He's a young guy who I believe will enhance the group here."
