Holman's contact terminated

Aston Villa has confirmed that Brett Holman's contract has been terminated by mutual consent.

The player was concerned that lack of first team football would hamper his chances  of playing for Australia in the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Dubai club Al Nasr have recently tweeted that Brett would be signing for them, subject to a medical.

The Socceroo was signed by Alex McLeish on a Bosman but didn't hook up with Villa until McLeish had left.

A frequent starter in Paul Lambert's early days, the player rarely managed to get through a full 90 minutes and fell out of favour in the second half of the season.
