Tottenham Hotspur
Where are we playing?
White Hart Lane
Can I go?
Not unless you've already bagged a ticket, in which case you are probably too busy sorting out your fancy dress to be reading this.
Easy to get to?
Probably the most irritating ground to get in London. It's a proper yomp from Seven Sisters tube. Might be a good one to leap on a coach to, but make sure you're on one with a toilet. Traffic can get horrendous.
Can I watch it on telly?
Sky are showing three live games including ours. We're on Sky Sports 3. Otherwise, your dodgy dished pub of choice might decide to show games involved in the destination of the League table rather than our relatively meaningless kick about. A web feed is probably your best best.
Big game?
"Well I got me beer in the sideboard here" |
Some Spurs fans would rather they weren't qualifying for the Europa League after the detrimental effect they feel being in the competition has had on their League form this year. Telling that all the managers who led Premier League teams into the competition ended up losing their jobs.
Most Villa fans will just be glad to see the back of a miserable season and party whether we win lose or draw but are more interested in Randy's forthcoming proclamation than the outcome of this game
Marina gets excited at Spurs games |
Well, there's everyone's favourite Cockney Knees Up duo Chas and Dave and there's Marina Sirtis who was very popular with Star Trek fans.
We've got the future King of England.
So we win
Who's playing for us?
Genuinely can't see any harm chucking a few of the younger lads in for this. Whether he will or not is another matter but we'd be highly tempted to give Janoi Donacien, Callum Robinson and Jack Grealish a taste of Premier League action.
On the other hand, if this proves to Lambert's swansong, it will almost spell the last appearance for some of the first team regulars too, so maybe he'll let them go out on their shield. Gabby should be available for selection but sadly Marc Albrighton -the only player who looks like he can be arsed - is likely to miss out.
Who's playing for them?
Thought AVB got a bit of a raw deal. Bringing in so many new players, it was always going to take time to gel and some adapt to the rigours of the Premier League faster than others. Still to be convinced that Sherwood knows what his best team is, we're not going to hazard a guess here.
Any useless stats?
Of course, here you go:
- We have 55 wins over Spurs while they've managed to beat us on 67 occasions. There have been 35 draws.
- We've only won twice at White Hart Lane in this century. A Dion Dublin double and goals from Benito Carbone and Alan Wright saw us come back from 2 down to win 4-2 in April 2000.
- Our other win was in September 2008. Nigel Reo-Coker and Ashley Young bagging the goals in a 2-1 victory. Darren Bent scored theirs. We haven't managed to beat Spurs home or away since.
- The most goal filled encounter was in 1966 when four goals from Tony Hateley saw get a 5-5 draw.
"If you have a supply teacher who comes into your school, sometimes they're not treated with the respect that a headmaster is. I have had a lot of players come to me and say their agents have told them that I'm not going to be here next year," Tim Sherwood
Prediction
Genuinely reckon that now the pressure is off we get something here. Going for 2-1 win for the Villa.
