Paul Lambert ostracised the player for two whole seasons, he was training with the kids last term and went off on loan to Bolton. This after a first season under Alex McLeish in which he failed to convince the Villa faithful.
This season however, he has formed part of Villa's new look back line, the success of which has propelled the club into second place in the Premier League.
