Under 21s draw with Stoke City at Bodymoor Heath

Aston Villa U21s 1-1 Stoke City U21s

Villa's Under 21 team have begun their campaign with a home draw against Stoke City.

Joe Cole, Jores Okore and Chris Herd all started the game for Villa, while Callum Robinson and Jack Grealish also featured.

Oliver Shenton gave the visitors an early lead with a deflected shot from just inside the box.

Villa hit back when Callum Robinson scored from a Mikey Drennan cross.

Both sides had chances to win the match in the second half, with both keepers being called upon to keep their respective sides in it.
