Calder |
Dundee are set to complete a loan swoop for exciting Aston Villa prospect Riccardo Calder.
The Dark Blues have struck an agreement which should see the 19-year-old arrive at Dens Park on loan.
Calder, part of Villa’s NextGen Series Final win over Chelsea in 2013, has been earmarked by Tim Sherwood as a player of some potential and hopes to have him involved more at first-team level next season.
Sherwood is keen to see Calder, who has been on the bench in the top flight, play games at a decent level, or failing that, in Scotland.
A deal is imminent with just the paperwork and formalities of the contract be completed.
When asked about incomings, Dundee boss Paul Hartley said: “We have to try to strengthen the squad.
“Pace is something we are looking to add.
“If we can get one or two in the wider areas, we will have the option to use something different out there.”
