5 bullet points from Derby
- The pairing of Tommy Elphick and James Chester has the makings of a fine defensive partnership. Just their second game together and already looking solid.
- Libor Kozak looks way off it. Has his bad luck with injury scuppered his career? He looks a shadow of the player we bought, seemed incapable of holding the ball up and then there was THAT miss.
- Gary Gardner might actually be up for fighting for his place. Having looked surprisingly ineffective at Wednesday and Luton, he had a better game here, when many of us had groaned to see his name on the team sheet. Obviously, his wonder strike hitting the post caught the eye, but he was much improved in his general play.
- Where are Derby playing Will Hughes? He was so deep in the first half you could have mistaken him for a centre half. One of the most talented midfielders in the division, he's wasted in a defensive-mid role, Makes you glad we didn't get Pearson.
- Ross McCormack oozes quality and there were several moments that indicated he can be key in extracting the best from Jack Grealish.
