Sky bugger up our first home game and shunt Leicester away

The first home match of the season, a tantalising encounter with Manchester United, has been shunted to a Friday night, with the EDL being blamed.

A march in Walsall on the Saturday means the local plod objected to the game taking place on the same day, while Manchester United weren't keen on a Sunday match due to their re-emergence into the Champions League.

If fans think Friday night football is a daft idea, they'd better get used it. The new TV deal sees Friday matches included from 2016/17.

As if our Villa Park opener being moved wasn't enough, Sky have also moved our away match at Leicester City to a 4 o'clocker on Sunday, which will curtail the plans of those who were planning to avail ourselves of the hospitality of leicester's public houses, but will now have to be fit for work the following day.
